Child Portraits in Puerto Rico: Carolina
Today was a special day because I had a special model and the perfect place to take her child portrait. I love taking portraits of children because they are so spontaneous. Whether they sit and frown or dance like a ballerina, children are honest about who they are right at that moment and so much fun to photograph.
This shoot started out wonderfully, with Carolina trying her best to dance for me in the sparkling sun. Watching her spin and dance was magical.
Then we had some fun pretending we were leaping over big rocks.
Then we had a little disaster. My happy little model’s feet were attacked by fire ants. We took a break to recover. It just goes to show, you never know what will happen on a photo shoot 🙁
Carolina is a brave little girl and it didn’t take long before she was ready to get in front of the camera again, but this time, she wanted her mommy to hold her hand. I love what resulted <3
In the end, this was a perfect child photography session and I’m thrilled with the results and so excited to share them! It just goes to show that if you work with what you have and let the moment flow, you can get some incredible photos. Thank you to my brave little model–and mom, who I was able to convince to get in front of the camera too.
